Black Bastion - remainder of the town fortification of Slaný
The town of Slaný gradually arose within the borders preserved in built-up area of historical centre of today´s Slaný. The square and the streets have remaind almost the same as they were in the Middle Ages in this part. Today we can find the rests of town walls in several parts which separated the town from the original market settlement under the Slaný Hill where the Prague suburb gradually arose. Only the Black bastion has remained from the north fortification and the Velvarská Gate is the only gate which has been preserved up to now.
Nowadays the Black Bastion has been reconstructed and brought into use of Scout Organization of Slaný. Thanks to that fact it is in a very good condition, including adjoining spaces.
